I'm attempting to make up for being late with my May and June entries by being very very early with my July one!

Of all the quotes that have come into my life this month, the one which has stayed with me the most is:

A nice thought to hold on to as we negotiate this perfection-obsessed world we've created with its sometimes crippling over-emphasis on our physical bodies. A genuine and infectious smile is indeed a glimpse at the beauty of someone's inner world - and an indication of the health their emotional and/or spiritual aspects are enjoying in that moment.  Given due attention and a consistent workout, these aspects of our being can continue to strengthen and deepen no matter what mischief the passing of time has wreaked on our physical bodies.

OK, OK...So I'm late again!  But again only because I've been having a lovely time with visitors and trips to see loved ones before my recuperation is declared complete and I have to get properly back in the saddle!

My failure to make my usual first of the month posting had nothing to do with April Fool's Day at all...it was more connected to my over-indulgence in the convalescence process following my recent surgery.  I'm SO good at relaxing and practising what I preach that I have to admit half the time I don't know what day of the week it is just now!  Normal service will be resumed in May when I really must get back into gear and rediscover some focus and motivation...but for now I'm sure none of you would grudge me another week or two of R & R!!  My recovery is right on schedule!

Hope you all had a Happy Easter...bring on the summer!

I'm going in dock later this month for a bit of an MOT...one of those procedures that goes under the heading of 'Women's Troubles' that is guaranteed to elicit a knowing look from women and the rapid end of a conversation from men!!  Hence no special offers this month as I'm planning to take it easy for a good long while and tap myself back to fine fettle asap!

I've been experiencing some technical difficulties with my website - hence the delay in this particular 'first of the month' posting!  Hopefully those problems are now behind me.  Apologies in abundance to anyone who has tried and failed to access the site over the past few weeks!

Personally 2010 has greeted me with a streaming cold which has given me the opportunity to connect with the necessity for positive thinking and gratitude even at (indeed especially at) times of adversity.  I'm thankful for this cold as it's forced me to take time of work which has opened up plenty of time opportunities to enjoy all the wonderful books and DVDs I was given by myself and others for Christmas.  It has given me time to reflect and joyously absorb memories of a fun-filled festive fortnight leading up to the New Year.  Moreover it's left me feeling quite drunk, so I'm grateful for the money I've saved on alcohol which I would need to consume under ordinary circumstances in order to feel this 'spaced out'!!

I am a firm believer that great wisdom abounds on this planet of ours, if we take the time to look and listen. The following story was sent to me by a long-time subscriber to the Winner's Circle, and today I would like to share it with you.

How often we are faced with a choice about how to react to each day's challenges. Do we rail at the outrageous winds of "fate" that pound us from time to time, falling into the pit of self-pity; or do we look upon these moments as opportunities to learn and grow, and broaden the humanity within us?

The good news is that we do have a choice. We can choose to feed the wolf of envy and resentment, or feed the wolf of humility, benevolence and compassion. We can choose to be happy or to be miserable. The choice we make colors our days, our work and our relationships to those around us.
